What anime that has no business being a sad anime but made you ugly cry?

It doesn’t fall under the genre of tear jerking and at face value, the title, the soundtracks, the plotline doesn’t immediately jumps as something that you would be balling your eyes out to.

Maybe it took a major plot twist, just drastic character development or anything that audiences can definitely relate to as they are invested in the plotline without having to constantly shove it in your face that you have to be emotional the entire time.
