However, he soon discovers himself at the center of a plot that bends the laws of time and space as monsters secretly work to destroy his hometown in Summer Time Rendering.

3. Parasyte the Maxim

Based on the manga by Hitoshi Iwaaki, Parastye: The Maxim follows 17-year-old Shinichi Izumi after he is partially infected by a parasyte, an alien worm that butchers and consumes its hosts after they show up on earth. Instead of burrowing into his brain, the parasyte attempts to enter Izumi through his arm instead. When he stops it there they each maintain their own identities and he must learn to co-exist with the creature if he is to survive both the life of a parasyte and human, as part monster, part person.

In a world of devils and devil hunters, Denji is a poor young man who will do anything for money, including selling organs and taking on odd, dangerous jobs hunting down devils with his pet dog, Pochita. The English translation for this title is by Amanda Haley and features touch-up art and lettering by Sabrina Heep.

2. Angel Beats

Though it's been more than 10 years since its release, Angel Beats is just as fresh now as when it came out. The series revolves around a band of teen girls in the afterlife who must fight with everything they have in order to keep from advancing to the next level of death. This tear-jerking anime goes through a number of characters in its short 13-episode run and is bound to make you question everything you know about life and death.

After the death of his grandfather, Daikichi Kawachi discovers that his grandfather has a six-year-old illegitimate daughter, Rin Kaga. To keep her away from the mistreatment from the rest of the family, Daikichi decides to adopt Rin. Bunny Drop is a slice of life anime that shows the harsh realities of family drama and also how strong one person's love can be. The anime moves at a steady pace, and you'll end up wishing that Bunny Drop had more episodes to binge.
