Plot Summary: In 1957, the Federal Republic of Zirnitra achieved an incredible feat by launching the first living creature, a dog, into space. This event ignited a fierce rivalry with their competitor, the United Kingdom of Arnack. With no reliable methods for gauging space travel's effects on the human body, Zirnitra turned to vampires as an ideal test subject due to their biological similarities to humans. Irina Luminesk, a displaced vampire, consents to be a test subject and undergo an intense training regimen. Lev Leps, a previous spaceflight candidate, is appointed as her mentor and accompanies her on their cosmic journey. As they venture into the vast unknown, their shared admiration for space draws them closer together.
